sector-juego-online-ladboke-gibraltar-01_9222282763_o line-wall-road-gibraltar_22714746126_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 2g9a9330_48908300217_o 2g9a9916_48907308683_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-646_22120543744_o colas-frontera-diciembre07_12348798093_o 21-agosto-2014-colas-de-entrada-y-salida-de-gibraltar17_14989375162_o img_0484_44297149810_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-18_9222665493_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-43_9225469188_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9703084950_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-mark-eliyahu-ensemble-07_9222705751_o img_6804_34732166493_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201402_15002944724_o university-33_39633679641_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201427_15003567563_o img_4243_20485038704_o 2g9a0464_48801430027_o Punta-Europa-12 2g9a8769_48826625741_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-3 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114498333_o img_5018_48919597726_o img_9596_31008268158_o img_9630_43969757315_o 2g9a9358_31505850324_o img_0743_35671156133_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354081913_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-3_29605163365_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-55_29605119295_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-58_29605116175_o 2g9a5994_30746320000_o_30747661050_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-37_30282249254_o 96517_28871952974_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_25197190110_o img_8638_24454427356_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
