A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0070_43872609692_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii57_21190179286_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii85_21216360865_o strongmen-201352_10019084166_o la-galera-gustavo-bacarisas-de-gibraltar-acoge-las-obras-realizadas-durante-los-talleres-de-verano-del-servicio-de-trastornos-del-aprendizaje_24460200566_o img_4112_20921044479_o 7u3a9470_49597578596_o img_4178_20919636190_o img_2673_45564845121_o 7u3a9607_49900298183_o 2013-Endangered-Animals-III-Set plaza-de-la-verdura-1_27855773429_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-25_40133915122_o taxi-2_25761854238_o 2g9a0820_48806099211_o 2g9a8460_46634159261_o 1_img_0097_29910413118_o img_3204_40895454322_o 180731 - Visita a la nueva central eléctrica y planta de GNL cm-4_36030361232_o img_3884_48699323703_o img_9898_36433410166_o img_4614_48713815278_o 2g9a9325_30063583971_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770640000_o 2g9a4600_30827333101_o 100222_28874461723_o img_9615_26466622422_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
