Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Cross border residents whose children attend local schools were caught up in the latest targetted delays by the Spanish border controls with calls of "descrimination" made by some of those waiting to cross into Spain as delays seemed to target school children crossing times. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0279_45389528714_o img_0043_43202820544_o img_9401_43202797404_o img_9894_43872618322_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-en-chordais-09_9222660131_o metropol-valencia-espaa_14029867721_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii14_21029726639_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii81_21190115726_o 2014-Evacuation-set 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-36_29151488550_o img_8926_39603826862_o default rooke-3_24765047097_o 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-06_24398436285_o 2g9a4512_48713811883_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39843233622_o img_2051_37021278075_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876481121_o img_7258_34614714372_o img_7988_42792487310_o img_7178_33968356873_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-75_26771239499_o img_0530_36311271882_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-34_33659898213_o img_0740_39737060545_o 17-feb-2017-visita-a-gibraltar-del-alcalde-de-chiclana-jos-mara-romn-y-rueda-de-prensa-con-fabin-picardo_32368145225_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354072313_o 2g9a5378_30845371732_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-15_30578374520_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-41_30843306206_o 2g9a9312_29448012696_o 99163_28874463453_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27799936156_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27758097151_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-32 5-enero-2014-cabalgata-de-reyes-gibraltar-13_16035939469_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde05_13581211733_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 2g9a2151_27253039406_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-39_9289199313_o 7U3A4798 2g9a6461_51343714365_o El-Real-Regimiento-de-Gibraltar-actua-de-nuevo-como-Regimiento-de-Guardia-de-la-Reina-en-Londres-1
