A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0383_44297008790_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-04_17364505775_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868056011_o 1_img_5155_34443962435_o 2015-Gibraltar-Fire-Rescue-Service-150th-Anniversary 2013-Birds-Overprint 2g9a0538_26246271154_o img_9641_40316201560_o 7u3a9683_49900297493_o 2g9a0357_48801282636_o 659-boab-wa_48826285888_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876342331_o calle-cordoneros-1_38737184835_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876475721_o img_7610_38925222864_o 7u3a9968_50032088708_o P1080612 Punta-Europa-6 commonwealth-park-18_27855803939_o wellington-front0439_39603680912_o 2g9a6750-copy_48204160647_o img_5104_48919599951_o img_5293_48919071333_o 2g9a8334_46634164131_o img_9815_43969760715_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_42163382082_o 20171214_155520_27279177159_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-101_37830945934_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-9_32141137715_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-6_32010697791_o img_2360_36349031843_o img_3782_36973629806_o 2g9a6029_30306933983_o_31078855546_o img_3849_36349062283_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959237905_o 93498_29416776251_o 000-a-dsc_6112_19250557799_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201449_15628563810_o simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-10_15758188217_o ceremonia-de-las-llaves-gibraltar-25092014-17_15357543532_o 2g9a9863_27262419574_o investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde08_13581144345_o img_9257_26560103475_o img_8366_21133776168_o img_3546_19690902583_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_4201_17816333498_o
