Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. COLA GIBRALTAR colas-coches-gibraltar-febrero-2014-5_12614296015_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23216924022_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival37_15145365246_o 7u3a9477_49597827667_o 2017-Military-Heritage 2016-Historic-Streets-of-Gibraltar festival-literario-gibraltar20_10497041003_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-13_40133904472_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_007_12193590813_o 7u3a5175_49336226178_o WP_20140508_033 P1080674 panorama-17_24765517427_o 2g9a4236_48230714537_o 2g9a5892_48204607036_o img_1197_36605132990_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-102_26771251919_o img_2356_39948489645_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-74_38547076711_o img_0773_25038466877_o img_2339_37163010995_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-104_30846251072_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834024555_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-30 img_7831_24180736056_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off a-dsc_5717_19250376599_o festival-internacional-de-la-cancin-de-gibraltar_17502077982_o 000-a-dsc_6083_18813941704_o 5-enero-2014-cabalgata-de-reyes-gibraltar-04_16034488070_o investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde01_13581170015_o img_4432_25016488773_o 2g9a0143_26856625502_o img_3864_20737586969_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-03_20678040234_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_4190_17383702373_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day11_15014788719_o 7U3A4809 2g9a6492_51342922948_o 2g9a8794_51680451367_o Sacramento-1 Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-15 Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-2 20220910_21-GUN-SALUTE_124
