181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto nueva-ruta-area-gibraltar-manchester_27801530840_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-566_22718353766_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-321_22756374331_o los-macacos-en-libertad-en-el-pen-de-gibraltar-son-divertidos-pero-alimentarlos-est-penado_22713469506_o COLA GIBRALTAR colas-de-salida-26-01-15_15759360413_o img_3996_16235880376_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival08_14464515845_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival11_14277748800_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-08_17364151291_o img_5194_34284276862_o img_9886_21441950906_o img_2690_44650712085_o gibraltar-eslovaquia16_10967411375_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201413_15621091421_o strongmen-201380_10018957063_o 2g9a0889_48806101656_o img_4237_20486583723_o img_9656_21436959856_o 2g9a1112_48952341697_o 7u3a5812_49425820816_o img_2073_27855785559_o Alameda-18 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-1 small-boats-marina-1_24765542307_o img_5301_48919804312_o img_1815_36605211550_o dscf7934_30732456038_o img_9368_43069202410_o img_1671_43916351504_o scounting-for-girls-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-17_44833863402_o img_2400-2_42825389200_o 2g9a9469_32228028891_o img_0246_36479583055_o 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_31949828443_o 2g9a5323_30845129512_o 91933_28871959904_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. ceremonia-de-las-llaves-gibraltar-25092014-19_15171158110_o lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_26295206492_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_25918661114_o img_2868_24621227874_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
