Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. policia-gibraltar-02_9225047962_o 7u3a9809_50033001857_o monos-zona-alta-del-pen-con-turistas-08_9225077022_o monos-en-la-ciudad-19_9225083838_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-240_22745320555_o COLA GIBRALTAR 21-agosto-2014-colas-de-entrada-y-salida-de-gibraltar02_14966774296_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez22_12101849105_o 2016-Fifth-Anniversary-William-Kate inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25576707690_o partido-prensa-cdiz-veteranos-de-gibraltar-09_14752523261_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-16_40133901972_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_007_12193590813_o Gibraltar - Preparations for Operation Sea Snake start at Eastern beach with tanks celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-17_9222044379_o 2g9a0328_48800935713_o strongmen-201382_10018854655_o 2g9a0475_48801429952_o 7u3a5831_49426047027_o gorhams-cave-5_39633656241_o piper-1_39633880161_o 2g9a8348_32759670828_o 7U3A2445 img_3137_39128148330_o img_0140_42144366382_o img_9202_24493827438_o_24494935818_o img_0775_39737055865_o 2g9a9522_32348233715_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-52_32141128905_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354054773_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978715306_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275179410_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26405561330_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26154508855_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. a-dsc_5736_18815928263_o img_9087_25955087744_o 2g9a2130_27207946506_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_25918661114_o 2g9a0322_26882459281_o 2015_09_14__0024_21413157032_o 2015_09_14__0050_21236166178_o img_3818_20898126976_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-39_20677986404_o ceremonia-75-anos-evacuacion-gibraltar-22052015-02_17991991542_o 1_2G9A0485 2g9a8829_51681245916_o
