Accesibilidad a las playas de Gibraltar presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez09_12102184333_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - Fabian Picardo led his GSLP/LiberalAlliance Ministers to the Convent earlier this morning where there were sworn into Government by Acting Governor Alison Macmilan. He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0466_45202131165_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival20_15168446215_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii34_21206095472_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii68_21028293510_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-25_29331831142_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-22_19574919741_o 7u3a9593_49900813401_o gib-view-3_27855876129_o img_2705_39633723751_o Alameda-23 heritage175_27855261869_o 2g9a4295_48230650731_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131099058_o img_5381_48919074208_o img_3838_30891438957_o img_1197_36605132990_o 7U3A2439 img_8011_42792487080_o 7U3A2448 img_1642_43726050505_o img_5368_41421451025_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_9944_27319561617_o img_8818_24494308768_o img_4587_23521820738_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-30_32090609846_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-90_30846261172_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978705916_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-91_25326901969_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-10_30800440092_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28939780674_o img_5053_28856432074_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_24866074443_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
