Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. 007_20231849456_o 20150911_151742426_ios_22122809263_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-648_22729747142_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23551727711_o COLA GIBRALTAR Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 21-agosto-2014-colas-de-entrada-y-salida-de-gibraltar08_14803083960_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival02_15165301651_o 27-ene-17-alumnos-de-la-escuela-obispo-fitzgerald-de-gibraltar-conmemoran-el-holocausto_31742374263_o img_5175_34313401421_o img_6765_35502346436_o intercambio-cultural-entre-gibraltar-y-cdiz_41086233610_o 2016-Christmas-2016 calpeia6_48875163987_o superman-en-gibraltar-actor-henry-cavill-carrera-5km-del-350-aniversario-de-la-marina-britanica-25102014-09_15447875619_o Monos-24 2g9a0962_48805747038_o img_9656_38737427045_o 2g9a2044_49049027136_o P1080708 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-23 whirligig-lane-1_27855775159_o 2g9a5360_48726351407_o img_5096_48919807952_o img_1205_36605129570_o OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA img_9472_43969665215_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-62_32141124365_o img_9806_31008313768_o 14-diciembre-2016-gbc-open-day-maratn-benfico-3_31643379645_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-21_38627529480_o 2g9a9241_29519582264_o img_2262_36349054193_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-27_30874576241_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-95_29524284391_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-3_30843123226_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-38_30578365210_o 2g9a9466_29192805970_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28939790344_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho08_14129490070_o img_4531_25347455430_o img_2766_24621609964_o img_8996_24185254120_o img_2922_21161882904_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-43_21300663485_o Kingston-23
