desayuno-financiero-de-gibraltar-en-londres_44793003284_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-16_26348578752_o paisajes-urbanos-gibraltar-07_9225055826_o 20150911_150506743_ios_22755200661_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-745_22717729606_o gibraltar-en-el-cuarto-comit-de-la-onu_30271367197_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-gabrielle-aplin_9702988984_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii51_21224378711_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions regiment-freedom-of-city-0174_15435565781_o festival-literario-gibraltar12_10496906755_o 2530EE1 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-18_37623776672_o 31-de-mayo-ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho16_14129477520_o 2g9a2576_49085939373_o 7u3a5842_49425350698_o 1_Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-15 2g9a0656_48919599111_o 2g9a6810_48204117117_o img_5161_48919068648_o img_0161_31960312738_o img_1668_43916353844_o img_9526_42792483390_o img_1048_36646544975_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_40402220950_o img_9992_42144385742_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-162_24674704628_o img_0779_26036940338_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-10_32010697211_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-25_31754392720_o img_0209_35644250144_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-65_29314652230_o 17-feb-2017-visita-a-gibraltar-del-alcalde-de-chiclana-jos-mara-romn-y-rueda-de-prensa-con-fabin-picardo_32247954291_o 2g9a4506_30798995912_o img_3723_36765432330_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29845564232_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-64_21000541659_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-85_21000522449_o 85-aniversario-museo-gibraltar-23072015-20_19340909114_o Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening a-dsc_5760_18815923873_o flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201425_15813420385_o img_9169_26560144995_o img_9257_26560103475_o img_4015_21060020515_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
