This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-11_26414966676_o restauracin-cementerio-witham-7_25110008999_o 2g9a9859_48908037587_o monos-en-la-ciudad-13_9222304459_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-717_22730243822_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23299044466_o img_0528_44297151610_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-mark-eliyahu-ensemble-13_9222709723_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-54_29331775372_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-14_25062335876_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-65_29439804845_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-88_28815935944_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho05_14316109535_o 2g9a0339_48801281656_o 2g9a2076_48706249681_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_26002359448_o img_5197_48919600766_o img_9405_42123217571_o img_1270_36861661641_o img_4548_48713814878_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-8_29314688490_o img_3027_44603357171_o 2g9a5204_30873102541_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_40402219340_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-19_30846363672_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-56 de-i-a-d-el-viceministro-principal-joseph-garca-el-ministro-principal-fabian-picardo-el-gobernador-edward-davis-y-la-alcaldesa-kaiane-aldorino-lpez_38310544536_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-8 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354051073_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_25466664616_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026133761_o a-dsc_5221_18814156774_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026149991_o 2g9a2884_27628289901_o img_2102_36349106963_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_23870201383_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29332687573_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-84_21289984542_o img_5001_28859132593_o 1_2G9A0456 Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
