A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. desayuno-financiero-de-gibraltar-en-londres_44604719515_o frontera-gibraltar-_9222289467_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-122_22756702961_o 21-agosto-2014-colas-de-entrada-y-salida-de-gibraltar04_14989400172_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_22696873034_o img_0100_43872554742_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez08_12102571886_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival31_14981751600_o 7u3a9332_49597827112_o img_2607_45564828981_o img_2612_45564826731_o img_4734_46113675651_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-16_40133901972_o 2g9a0249_48801280336_o 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-06_24398436285_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_28095558629_o 2012-Old-Views-of-Gibraltar-II img_4248_20919754458_o img_0135_43781187971_o img_9609_41403084924_o 7u3a9593_49900813401_o 7u3a9971_50032627151_o 7u3a9668_49901121347_o 2g9a2020_49048528868_o 2g9a4268_48230654741_o img_5367_48919601896_o img_0314_31960327678_o img_4120_45831072671_o img_1707_36861710091_o img_1885_26967044668_o img_0816_39910044121_o img_9058_38363878311_o_37651622304_o img_9200_38333613672_o_24494935938_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-30_32090609846_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-84_29524291931_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24124236661_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 85-aniversario-museo-gibraltar-23072015-23_19937315496_o 2g9a0336_26882454751_o 2g9a0254_26951061285_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24129248749_o gibraltar-national-day_020_9719755098_o img_7688_21110597570_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3714_18004277185_o Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cross of Sacrifice, Gibraltar. 2g9a6457_51343438534_o
