The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. img_2924_25251472095_o img_2576_24810777700_o img_9084_25955091144_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24201466560_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-30_21113794789_o img_7598_21272561166_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day14_15015002787_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3778_17816623140_o 7U3A4810 De-i.-a-d.-El-Gobernador-David-Steel-el-alcalde-Christian-Santos-el-Ministro-Principal-Fabian-Picardo-y-el-Vic.-Principal-Joseph-Garcia 2g9a8758_51681914774_o John-Cortes-2
