160421 - Inauguración de la nueva marina en Gibraltar para barcos pequeños sector-juego-online-ladboke-gibraltar-02_9225058606_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Line Wall Road Polling station where tensions were high at one point this morning) - Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. europa-foreshore_48205617181_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23266166339_o colas-de-salida-26-01-15_16353337906_o img_3457_34112857881_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-mark-eliyahu-ensemble-16_9225485306_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii25_21216501695_o 2014-Evacuation-2.00 2017-Year-of-the-Rooster 2017-HMS-Gibraltar-set img_0630_21570719666_o Gibraltar - Preparations for Operation Sea Snake start at Eastern beach with tanks img_0496_22928194391_o img_0837_20976049273_o 2g9a0459_26247307513_o img_9930_21457133092_o 2g9a0302_48801426827_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-04_19900970102_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-21_19913607251_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-13_9222042473_o img_9420_42123278181_o img_4178_20919636190_o 2g9a1077_48952340307_o 2g9a2029_49048528063_o Alameda-3 whirligig-lane-1_27855775159_o img_5056_48919598671_o img_5365_48919809932_o img_4011_45781935102_o 7U3A2382 20171214_115813_24195069627_o img_9530_42792483300_o 2g9a9425_32228012781_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-94_38490781956_o img_2144_36991653492_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-152_24674709848_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-29_30578369840_o 2g9a7201_29205876064_o img_5058_28856409474_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834013395_o festival-internacional-de-la-cancin-de-gibraltar_17317127388_o img_2110_27703096945_o Gibraltar - 9th May 2015 - Mo Anton took the first prize at the V Gibraltar Song Festival held at the Tercentennary Sports Hall in Gibraltar.Fourteen singers competed in the final from across the world following over 700 entries.
