Vistas de Gibraltar nueva-ruta-area-gibraltar-manchester_28082256515_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. restauracin-cementerio-witham-11_25451427916_o 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-1_26414987996_o el-castillo-moro-de-gibraltar-abajo-la-ciudad-y-el-puerto_22727026562_o 2g9a9408_48908088796_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-lawson_9699904439_o img_9369_42112032180_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival29_14981841908_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-16_16744207283_o 2g9a0588_26817594536_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868056011_o 2g9a0238_48801426287_o img_9536_28250755308_o Trafalgar-4 Caleta-y-Playa P1080604 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131153902_o img_4990_48919068038_o img_5161_48919068648_o 2g9a4651_48714308907_o img_5414_48919603136_o img_9284_44160655834_o img_1504_29696593567_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-76_38490783146_o img_0776_25762436127_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-169_24674693448_o img_0797_26036943708_o img_8939_38363751781_o_38310548136_o img_9035_38309180926_o_38310544166_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-66_32141123095_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354092953_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026133961_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-79_29494973792_o 2g9a5069_30925484246_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26154508855_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-77_20999225390_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
