A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. skywalk-gibraltar-9-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_42273842135_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival13_14463006652_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival40_14277773730_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-49_28818197423_o 7u3a9470_49597578596_o img_9834_20845503514_o MM180007 university-10_39603334062_o Gibraltar - Preparations for Operation Sea Snake start at Eastern beach with tanks lincoln-uefa-21072015-09_19720479980_o Gibraltar - Preparations for Operation Sea Snake start at Eastern beach with tanks visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-18_14153740895_o superman-en-gibraltar-actor-henry-cavill-carrera-5km-del-350-aniversario-de-la-marina-britanica-25102014-08_15448935710_o img_4197_20920904089_o img_4706_46063766082_o 7u3a5082_49336691431_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39843225002_o panorama-19_39603771082_o img_3884_48699323703_o img_8939_38363751781_o_38310548136_o img_9462_43969674475_o img_1547_36185389504_o img_4262_36329332084_o img_0504_36311350292_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026133351_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-47_30927342656_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-46_28981296213_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-25 Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-14bn_21246898631_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-24_15493076906_o investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde01_13581170015_o img_9126_26467718552_o img_2695_25252187645_o img_2576_24810777700_o img_9087_25955087744_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-78_9288931103_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY fuegos-artificiales-como-colofn-del-da-nacional-de-gibraltar-2015_22744960755_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_4235_17816574300_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day30_15201535265_o img_4254_20353439149_o 7u3a6938_51342695646_o 20220910_21-GUN-SALUTE_124
