Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_40401104521_o At 1500hrs on 28th May 2014 Spanish border controls at the Gibraltar-Spain frontier saw the queues extend all the way to the airport forecourt. At the same time vehicular passage saw only a 30 minute delay at the most. Children were caught up in the delays. 21-agosto-2014-colas-de-entrada-y-salida-de-gibraltar29_14989354572_o 21-agosto-2014-colas-de-entrada-y-salida-de-gibraltar31_14803042770_o festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar-25102014-30_15607269356_o Gibraltar - Drivers wait for hours to cross border 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival16_15168468635_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions proyecto-de-construccin-de-las-dos-nuevas-escuelas-de-bayside-y-westside-en-waterport-gibraltar_27712734298_o 2016-Gibraltar-Year-of-the-Monkey img_0724_20974216114_o gibraltar-feroe-febrero-2014-08_12864685853_o img_4091_21081660906_o img_0132_28844746007_o 7u3a5266_49336226818_o 2g9a2017_49049241587_o gib-view-2_24765539247_o evacuation-monument-0490_39633999901_o img_5135_48919599496_o img_9375_44830633282_o dscf7889_30729838038_o img_1649_43916340584_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_42163383582_o 20171214_121556_24195068477_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-14_30282265074_o img_2102_36349106963_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959246245_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-105_29494990242_o 2g9a7331_29750650551_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29665528350_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24288112613_o 3-de-diciembre-2015-bienvenida-al-atlethic-de-bilbao-19_23414779981_o 85-aniversario-museo-gibraltar-23072015-06_19340933664_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. img_2925_24624583463_o despedida-del-gobernador-de-gibraltar-13112013-marcos-moreno38_10967179886_o despedida-del-gobernador-de-gibraltar-13112013-marcos-moreno10_10967186286_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-92_20677906464_o img_8097_21306539431_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day15_15014995837_o Royal Marines Abseiling at RAF Gibraltar 7U3A4863 BP200031 img_4235_19919391273_o 7U3A9421 Molly-Peach-entrega-unas-flores-a-la-Condesa-de-Wessex-en-presencia-de-su-madre-la-cabo-Peach rueda-de-prensa-resolucin-comisin-ue04_10967548765_o
