A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 160421 - Inauguración de la nueva marina en Gibraltar para barcos pequeños 160421 - Inauguración de la nueva marina en Gibraltar para barcos pequeños horadelplanetagibraltar4_13495531915_o 2g9a9868_48907304793_o la-marina-de-ocean-village-desde-la-parte-alta-del-pen-de-gibraltar_22551851240_o img_4805_26995115337_o img_4876_27994660228_o img_0481_44297158170_o 2018-Calpe-House Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_38976656755_o concierto-andrea-bocelli_48720545188_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho09_14314268312_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-21_14150891072_o Monos-38 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131074511_o img_1671_43916351504_o img_4597_48713814663_o img_0658_36082750110_o img_9609_31008261418_o 2g9a5263_25325618279_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354070573_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-85_25326905139_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770650960_o 119048_29462643626_o img_2314_36326581534_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26405524440_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27799937876_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26074990233_o img_9583_26532996406_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-71bn_21051010038_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
