A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. cementerio-de-trafalgar-gibraltar_22123462413_o las-bateras-defensivas-de-kings-bastion-wellington-front-right-bastion-del-siglo-xviii_22740125095_o airport-0430_24765628787_o img_4005_16260947422_o img_3404_33432755993_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival35_14463257414_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0089_15252154468_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_0708_20975962423_o 7u3a9373_49597828977_o img_0837_20976049273_o proyecto-de-construccin-de-las-dos-nuevas-escuelas-de-bayside-y-westside-en-waterport-gibraltar_41541645772_o 2g9a0538_26246271154_o Gibraltar - Preparations for Operation Sea Snake start at Eastern beach with tanks festival-literario-gibraltar05_10496980584_o festival-literario-gibraltar25_10496800925_o La-verja-vista-desde-Gibraltar img_0257_43781194391_o 2g9a2558_49086448071_o 7u3a5103_49336224273_o Cuevas-de-San-Miguel-10 img_2789_38925381264_o P1080601 heritage157_39603312472_o rooke-1_25761941028_o img_3946_30891445337_o img_3287_40895445072_o img_1425_42824930770_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-8_32010697541_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36996841542_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-83_22784241378_o 2g9a9359_29447961116_o img_5091_29191045140_o img_5114_29445259996_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-06_21000510809_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a9826_27839928956_o img_4513_25275518919_o 2g9a1600_27170661121_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
