A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 20150911_101420827_ios_22718451826_o img_0278_20263909091_o 2g9a9455_48907571463_o 20150911_132729617_ios_22122027303_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-755_22754941081_o 14-agosto-2014-colas-de-accceso-a-gibraltar11_14918189322_o 25-noviember-2014-cola-de-salida-gibraltar-06_15262858513_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-18_19468726353_o repatriacin-de-nacionales-britnicos-desde-marruecos-covid-19_49870672461_o 2019-Christmas-2019-Carols img_0557_22729135130_o calpeia6_48875163987_o 2g9a0359_48800936438_o 2g9a2963_49094630012_o entrenamiento-conjunto-balona-san-joseph-en-la-linea-02122013-2_11213198355_o gibraltar-eslovaquia07_10967675153_o img_4105_20921051579_o 2g9a8342_46581729712_o img_9978_42144388942_o 1_img_0101_29910411388_o img_9014_37650179064_o_37651609184_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-2_47644434832_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-32_29605143365_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770640180_o 2g9a5268_25325629009_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026139631_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941936233_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026146381_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834024025_o img_2133_36349097943_o 4-abr-2016-inauguracin-nueva-sede-banco-internacional-de-gibraltar-10_26234663915_o img_3871_37020599311_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_23838987319_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-49_20564694524_o Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening 2g9a9899_27596506160_o 2g9a2053_27207718836_o img_5988_25704766040_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
