A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-670_22717409776_o 14-agosto-2014-colas-de-accceso-a-gibraltar03_14731997187_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25492906665_o img_9963_20846964183_o proyecto-de-construccin-de-las-dos-nuevas-escuelas-de-bayside-y-westside-en-waterport-gibraltar_41541645772_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16360719866_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-20_40133898262_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-29_13967046937_o 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-18_24398430515_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-06_9224816906_o strongmen-201376_10018901025_o img_0098_42877256075_o img_9675_21436926736_o dscf7839_43693501635_o 7u3a0102_50032156358_o 20171214_111203_39025260932_o 2g94826_48717726422_o img_5292_42275712322_o 2g9a4646_48714143021_o 2g9a9364_32308848286_o img_4689_48713815623_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-21_31319334613_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_42163383582_o 14-diciembre-2016-gbc-open-day-maratn-benfico-15_30801728224_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-166_24674703638_o img_0594_36082709670_o img_2160_36973622246_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-23_28979583374_o img_3811_36326656974_o 2g9a5320_30961724465_o 11-de-noviembre-2016-concurso-cyber-centurion-en-gibraltar-8_30828771561_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565280445_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-7_24847785431_o 3-de-diciembre-2015-bienvenida-al-atlethic-de-bilbao-08_22868970364_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201449_15628563810_o img_2104_27602496062_o 2g9a0164_26882537631_o 2g9a0332-2_26856506532_o img_5990_25376580433_o nuevo-gobernador-de-gibraltar02_11312504174_o gibraltar-national-day-2013-221_9716914757_o g_0205_19691094263_o Royal Navy Gibraltar Squadron with four boats at sea.
