A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. desayuno-financiero-de-gibraltar-en-londres_44793080194_o restauracin-cementerio-witham-4_25451431286_o nelson-observa-la-catedral-catlica-de-gibraltar_22118012404_o 2g9a9376_48908297157_o pista-skate-gibraltar-01_9222270813_o skywalk-gibraltar-14-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_42273843655_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23217069022_o img_3402_34112865801_o img_9923_43872623862_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-texas_9699801439_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-yasmin-levy-mediterranean-andalusian-orchestra-ashkelon-28_9225502286_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-18_17364118671_o 14009938016_90a12f94bc_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868058401_o img_5280_34284322572_o img_4699_44297314220_o MM180007 tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente12_12249071185_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-00_9224806444_o strongmen-201305_10019377226_o strongmen-201380_10018957063_o 2g9a9730_50032155873_o 2g9a2568_49086447926_o american-war-memorial-7753_25762320768_o heritage139_39603310212_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131072316_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131099058_o img_8791_38334295032_o r3wire-varski-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-113_43072431440_o img_4642_23521811868_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-33_31299667234_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354091903_o 2g9a9237_29852392220_o 2g9a5905_30999693541_o_31001133651_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-85 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_23838987319_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-71bn_21051010038_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
