Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. 2g9a9318_48907567023_o 2g9a9418_48907569073_o img_0327_45202120685_o img_4873_27994659758_o img_0457_46063480522_o img_9891_43921156741_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-24_28818270023_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-91_29360016551_o 2g9a2959_49094440501_o img_9528_28250757238_o img_0220_29910452298_o 7u3a5810_49426047447_o P1080673 jumpers-bastion-3_38924863084_o Alameda-29 st-michael-cave-206_39633561791_o 2g9a5354_48726176441_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-89_26771253139_o img_0713_26036925188_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-93_38515439172_o img_9201_24493834838_o_37651610484_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-113_38547062931_o 08-may-2017-10visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895407454_o reunin-del-ministro-principal-con-susana-daz-en-sevilla_28112276699_o dementia-day-centre-panorama3_32228020981_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-8_32102451796_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978712946_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-43_28981297623_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-68_29605106195_o img_3811_36326656974_o untitled_panorama1_36326678104_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-11_30800439212_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27141400080_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417184655_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26250763670_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201421_15628568160_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26431266172_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_23868810714_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-66_21300627035_o img_8162_21298338565_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day12_15178559496_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day31_15178510186_o 1_7U3A4512 img_4249_20352189508_o Sandy-Bay-Condesa-de-Wessex rueda-de-prensa-resolucin-comisin-ue01_10967634866_o
