A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. yon-antony-venezuela_14029832182_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival07_14277900670_o colegio-hebreo_17680999552_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-33_25062312436_o 2016-Gibraltar-Year-of-the-Monkey 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25492906665_o 2015-YouStamps-2015 img_9910_20845446764_o img_4647_32242474238_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39165314274_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-22_19285909334_o strongman-en-casemates_9997709236_o img_0091_43733181102_o img_4282_20920810299_o 2g9a9545_50032088758_o the-main-guard-2_27855380119_o 2g9a4242_48230643236_o 2g9a4288_48230652136_o img_5229_48919070698_o img_4608_48713811103_o img_1688_36166373184_o scounting-for-girls-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-16_43072422790_o img_1048_36646544975_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-31_30867550333_o 2g9a5950_30306895493_o_30294465174_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978712796_o 126120_28874486783_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026133451_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417186425_o img_2141_36326680804_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26613133941_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25881619790_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-21_20566182133_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
