Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. cementerio-de-trafalgar-gibraltar_22556724680_o 2g9a9434_48908099111_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23525502002_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23029351580_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival10_14277908057_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival31_14981751600_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26902335286_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_5217_34313395251_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25851359676_o img_2700_44839794484_o 2g9a8298_48875283342_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_25004279557_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho11_14292949546_o img_9437_42123274791_o visita-del-alcalde-de-la-lnea-al-ministro-principal-de-gibraltar_48954055143_o 2g9a1974_49048523953_o 2g9a8801_48826623421_o img_2340_25761250938_o 2g9a4236_48230714537_o 2g94826_48717726422_o img_4607_48713814578_o img_3920-1_45106515924_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-24_34309885842_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-31_34309885242_o img_2187_36326671424_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31093430340_o 2g9a6068_31113399075_o_31078855176_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-5_30846389752_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-17_30843118256_o 2g9a9493_29447189776_o 101823_29462611076_o 2g9a9272_29482473415_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27556205220_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_26808901774_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-93 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26074990233_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_23838987319_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-31_20999470498_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a9349_27262518223_o img_8065_21110584488_o img_8169_21111444359_o 7U3A4792 USS-Alaska-Gib-8 20220910_21-GUN-SALUTE_141 El-Real-Regimiento-de-Gibraltar-actua-de-nuevo-como-Regimiento-de-Guardia-de-la-Reina-en-Londres-9 846 NAS Ex Barbary Commando 16 medio-ambiente-5-storm-petrel_48859357838_o
