Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. skywalk-gibraltar-15-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_42273843225_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23551779011_o inmaculada-fotos-23112014-10_15473742663_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23216950362_o img_3420_34086342192_o img_0350_45389522814_o img_0073_43016088255_o img_0449_32242170628_o img_9956_43016042775_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar18_10382445414_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-81_29331731022_o Gibraltar - Preparations for Operation Sea Snake start at Eastern beach with tanks img_0724_20974216114_o 2g9a0736_48805743973_o 2012-Old-Views-of-Gibraltar-II sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_26002359448_o img_9542_42077118512_o 2g9a2005_49049016151_o P1080671 cof 2g9a5360_48726351407_o img_5251_48919601496_o img_1367_36849707172_o img_8132_30729847398_o img_0266_36479574835_o 2g9a5356_30872846601_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-21_30927365976_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-36_30927351356_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-33_30879566175_o a-dsc_0256_19430366702_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-18_15324295383_o img_4480_25012650324_o img_9236_26534105336_o img_5988_25704766040_o img_8954_24186077810_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-77_9291721666_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24201449510_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24470814256_o 2015_09_14__0212_20801003424_o img_3968_20437462994_o 19-agosto-2015-celebracin-del-centenario-del-nacimiento-de-sir-joshua-hassan_20520685820_o gibraltar-national-day-2013-248_9716861969_o gibraltar-national-day-2013-marcos-moreno03_9717117269_o despedida-del-gobernador-de-gibraltar-13112013-marcos-moreno10_10967186286_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day21_15014983838_o fabian-picardo1_9939615874_o
