This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. skywalk-gibraltar-8-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_41367548130_o 7u3a9855_50032742381_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-150_22756640631_o img_4883_41820479742_o img_9361_43921121661_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-73_28815961804_o img_0555_22729138690_o 7u3a9477_49597827667_o 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-27_32513497486_o 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-17_23770226254_o 2g9a3992_49336914957_o 7u3a5821_49425351433_o 7u3a5183_49336912082_o img_5864_49085940138_o P1080670 rooke-2_25761933408_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131102218_o 2g9a4639_48714143166_o 2g9a0566_48919805577_o 2g9a4698_48713814278_o scounting-for-girls-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-15_43072423300_o img_1367_36849707172_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-144_37830962124_o img_0658_36082750110_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-13_38627528380_o img_3731_36349112103_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-22_31562038491_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27799757576_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318387742_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-3_26935103895_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876089271_o 23-jun-2016-votacin-en-gibraltar-referndum-sobre-la-permanencia-del-ru-en-la-ue-3_27241872494_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
