A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_22698129863_o img_3722_34112968631_o img_9327_42112034220_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-metro-motel_9703121380_o img_0497_32242282898_o zenobia-venezuela-premio-especial_14033450914_o img_8836_19518880384_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-13_24461806473_o img_2668_45564846101_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0261-bw_15439620162_o img_2748_44650722675_o img_4619_31174602057_o 2g9a0316_48801427967_o La-verja-vista-desde-Gibraltar 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-19_32513498166_o gibraltar-eslovaquia09_10967673663_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39165069214_o img_9633_20840571544_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-33_37623772922_o img_7627_27855939919_o visita-platini-gibralar-rock-cup-2014-33_14153908594_o 2g9a0602_48919804957_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114498408_o img_4914_48919597971_o img_5096_48919807952_o img_5165_48919068503_o img_4551_48714310267_o img_5233_48919600301_o img_4013_30891442987_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-33_31562034291_o img_9558_43969743275_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-32_30880582466_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354077163_o img_9495_25954130954_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770633770_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_25197188930_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24286855844_o img_2768_25252236485_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
