restauracin-cementerio-witham-10_25384698391_o yon-antony-venezuela_14029832182_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - Fabian Picardo led his GSLP/LiberalAlliance Ministers to the Convent earlier this morning where there were sworn into Government by Acting Governor Alison Macmilan. He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival29_14981841908_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-16_16744207283_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25466798246_o img_6602_34700095264_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201437_15623712505_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0174-bw_15436772281_o img_9932_21457127292_o gibraltar-eslovaquia13_10967669393_o 5-febrero-2015-entrega-premios-festival-internacional-de-ajedrez-tradewise-de-gibraltar-12_16265134410_o strongmen-201342_10019129985_o 7u3a5758_49426045592_o 2g9a2021_49048528688_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-16 2g9a4273_48230654131_o 2g9a4499_48714307747_o 2g9a8473_46581731172_o 2g9a4691_48713814358_o img_1466_44585017572_o img_1643_43916347484_o img_9932_40383751850_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-13_31765982120_o 14-diciembre-2016-gbc-open-day-maratn-benfico-9_30801730584_o img_9880_36433410896_o img_0218_36342190891_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-16_34309882402_o 2g9a9226_29852393150_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31093429780_o 2g9a6037_30306762643_o_31001130071_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-2_30879586365_o img_5103_28855182574_o 2g9a9279_29448090826_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834023575_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-54 lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_26387572985_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
