7u3a9845_50032742426_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. img_0457_46063480522_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar22_10382482766_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_8791_20141606395_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-yasmin-levy-mediterranean-andalusian-orchestra-ashkelon-27_9222724905_o img_2625_45564822511_o HMS-Forth-8 concierto-andrea-bocelli_48720880711_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-realizando-maniobras-de-aproximacin-a-gibraltar_40133897532_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho10_14316103525_o strongmen-201363_10019008905_o strongmen-201365_10018999025_o strongmen-201366_10019076873_o img_4115_21097751282_o 2g9a9850_50032156628_o Monos-38 Punta-Europa-2 shipping-7_39603071682_o 2g9a4539_48714142791_o img_0243_30891443107_o img_1185_36605139480_o r3wire-varski-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-13_31011423688_o img_2409_40800642252_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-111_38515438132_o img_9952_42190716891_o img_3547_36982596533_o reunin-del-ministro-principal-con-susana-daz-en-sevilla_39182268234_o img_2036_36833066376_o 08-may-2017-5visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895413304_o img_3548_34196604356_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-29_32129382315_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354049193_o 2g9a9359_29447961116_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770634030_o img_4983_29192599100_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978714986_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-62_9291836418_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026137531_o img_7613_20676107514_o flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201436_15789740706_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day48_15014911278_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-16_9292088092_o 1_7U3A4494 BA200006 img_6389_20317851451_o 7u3a1188_51681916339_o Policía Real de Gibraltar y agentes de aduanas fabin-picardo-ministro-principal-gibraltar-15_9225027728_o
