A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. sector-juego-online-ladboke-gibraltar-10_9222283431_o 20150911_101420827_ios_22718451826_o 7u3a9817_50032742641_o img_3710_33402052134_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23242640091_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii81_21190115726_o img_4812_41820474272_o img_5246_34443953115_o la-galera-gustavo-bacarisas-de-gibraltar-acoge-las-obras-realizadas-durante-los-talleres-de-verano-del-servicio-de-trastornos-del-aprendizaje_24460201446_o img_5314_34284315472_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25851354856_o 2g9a0556_26757785812_o 7u3a6462_49454013618_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16385774562_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201439_15623709805_o img_5727_49086659587_o img_9505_41222419855_o 7u3a5213_49336225253_o img_0139_43064732994_o P1080707 2g9a4241_48230643706_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131074511_o img_4617_48714310607_o img_5394_48919811482_o 2g9a8361_46581736712_o nova-twins-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-119_44833876382_o img_9929_27319565887_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-55_31765985950_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36331789554_o 2g9a6167_30746397560_o_31114931015_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026135551_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-58_25326924399_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-84_30962796975_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959235605_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25551863003_o 85-aniversario-museo-gibraltar-23072015-08_19963598615_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
