A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23242743581_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9703043186_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival08_14981926707_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25400099141_o 7u3a9392_49597579526_o concierto-andrea-bocelli_48721053412_o 2g9a4960_48874427718_o Royal-Engagement strongmen-201337_10019173926_o commonwealth-park-11_27855893549_o heritage139_39603310212_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-19 wellington-front0-2439_39634013641_o img_4024_48699323163_o img_4903_48919066693_o 2g9a4513_48714140426_o img_5297_48919071283_o img_4146_45831076581_o img_2330_25970941727_o 2g9a9461_31505852364_o 2g9a9364_32308848286_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354073593_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-8_29314688490_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354091903_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-6_30828743591_o 1_17-feb-2017-visita-a-gibraltar-del-alcalde-de-chiclana-jos-mara-romn-y-rueda-de-prensa-con-fabin-picardo_32247952521_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-52_30800410832_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37168271645_o 2g9a7427_29750595241_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29531205206_o 000-a-dsc_6104_19436735505_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 29-mayo-inauguracin-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho14_14125083129_o img_2727_24625357453_o img_2777_25133940012_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day66_15201070942_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
