A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-02_19468708393_o img_0297_45202117685_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23325253795_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-18_9222665493_o img_0478_44297157290_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival07_14441263236_o img_9937_43872622512_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival23_14463271234_o img_8812_20147134501_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25492904535_o proyecto-de-construccin-de-las-dos-nuevas-escuelas-de-bayside-y-westside-en-waterport-gibraltar_27712734848_o img_0637_21409042838_o 2g9a0338_48800935623_o cervantes-03 img_4124_21097741772_o img_4260_21081434986_o 7u3a5269_49336695326_o 7u3a5286_49336228403_o img_0205_6_7_fused_24765393757_o Monos-40 Mezquita-37 1_Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-14 img_5226_48919808312_o img_3900_45831057411_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-20_32754310987_o img_1498_43916115954_o img_9538_43969745235_o img_9933_40383750700_o img_8670_26036948318_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-13_31980777722_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-20_31331050603_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-67_32102432316_o img_0658_36082750110_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318391752_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-30_30282253884_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-12_30578376000_o img_5180_28854813344_o img_7897_24180734756_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
