cementerio-de-trafalgar-gibraltar_22556702970_o 2g9a9389_48908296282_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 2g9a9919_48908040682_o img_3748_34112958801_o skywalk-gibraltar-9-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_42273842135_o img_0010_43202789094_o skywalk-gibraltar-17-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_41367549530_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar36_10382462976_o 14-agosto-2014-colas-de-accceso-a-gibraltar01_14895581056_o img_2748_44650722675_o img_0481_44297158170_o 7u3a9590_49901121177_o img_0152_43064730254_o 2g9a8838_48826783472_o devils-tongue-1_39603608482_o img_0304_45831074471_o img_1504_29696593567_o 20171214_155536_24195068347_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_0144_40383718240_o img_0168_42144355952_o img_9972_42190713191_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-53_32022592491_o img_0704_35671153383_o 2g9a5824_32383639700_o 2g9a5954_30746414200_o_31114929025_o 2g9a5844_31113333995_o_31114930725_o 2g9a5065_30925479516_o 2g9a5317_30873330951_o 2g9a5364_30845260892_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-28_30874575701_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-42_30280669733_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876091511_o 119844_29462641096_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417188065_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-75 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26405503920_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_24862232114_o festival-internacional-de-la-cancin-de-gibraltar_17504221095_o a-dsc_0256_19430366702_o img_9221_26494044151_o lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_26321376721_o 20-de-agosto-2015-celebraciones-aniversario-sir-joshua-hassan-mar-del-sur-39_20570007560_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-18_21308826071_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day06_15014811169_o Kingston-29 img_4381_19916684494_o Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-28
