160421 - Inauguración de la nueva marina en Gibraltar para barcos pequeños Primer vuelo Gibraltar-Marrakech Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 25-noviember-2014-cola-de-salida-gibraltar-01_15694998498_o img_4002_16261791265_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23029564020_o img_9339_43202804384_o foot-03_17680853852_o 2g9a8318_48874550688_o 7u3a9477_49597827667_o partido-prensa-cdiz-veteranos-de-gibraltar-14_14755379262_o img_2703_31692342238_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-25_13967080290_o Gibraltar - Preparations for Operation Sea Snake start at Eastern beach with tanks gibraltar-feroe-febrero-2014-12_12864666923_o 2g9a0395_48801429432_o img_9589_41403092204_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-19 2g9a4258_48230712127_o national-day-panorama1_48713810828_o img_1748_44585334292_o img_9289_44830587042_o img_2412_26972644978_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 2g9a9432_32228011581_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-1_32102454396_o 17-feb-2017-visita-a-gibraltar-del-alcalde-de-chiclana-jos-mara-romn-y-rueda-de-prensa-con-fabin-picardo_32247953791_o img_3781_36991652802_o 2g9a5323_30845129512_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-29_30243926413_o 2g9a7377_29833275915_o 2g9a9816_29372682042_o 127014_29416795091_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417182495_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-78 Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
