nueva-ruta-area-gibraltar-manchester_28048144886_o desayuno-financiero-de-gibraltar-en-londres_43701630570_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-25_26168033920_o img_8456_20090013791_o 20150911_151612083_ios_22122859563_o gibraltar-en-el-cuarto-comit-de-la-onu_31336299138_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-13_19901581118_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii20_21216519815_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii61_21216422055_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_2697_44839795554_o jebel-sahara-10_23103772252_o img_0635_20975772363_o img_9889_21476750671_o untitled_panorama-2_21605669581_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_25004279557_o 2g9a0894_48806239312_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-37_19285873774_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16385784332_o 2g9a9878_50032156553_o 7u3a5737_49425814276_o 2g9a2552_49086444731_o Mezquita-32 1_Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-17 rooke-4_27855394689_o 2g9a6735-copy_48204115527_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-7_32754311467_o 2g9a8412_46634161231_o img_1537_44635085691_o img_3015_39128194910_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-17_31992470462_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-44_31531497702_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-69_28979552354_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-20_30916508855_o 2g9a9488_29447193276_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834019805_o 2g9a9342_27262519743_o img_5291_29370424902_o 2g9a9449_27596409020_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
