A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-685_22555931020_o airport-0424_39633944971_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar24_10382641503_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-la-oreja-de-van-gogh_9703160194_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez05_12102582406_o 7u3a6492_49454717262_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0118_15439633672_o img_0476_22498822457_o 2g9a3002_49093922173_o partido-prensa-cdiz-veteranos-de-gibraltar-03_14569040198_o img_0097_29910413118_o img_0164_41972505660_o Punta-Europa-22 img_0241_29910447648_o panorama-13_24765595827_o img_5164_48919068563_o img_5418_48919073343_o img_4655_48714310362_o img_4077_45831074851_o img_4145_31960314788_o img_9276_29944486347_o img_1472_44635118681_o img_3358_40937363131_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_8825_38334285862_o 08-may-2017-4visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895414504_o 2g9a9407_32228028261_o dementia-day-centre-panorama1_32228021781_o 2g9a5261_25325595389_o img_9635_26286040440_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026133821_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_23580015023_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026165101_o 2g9a9342_27262519743_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29845563502_o img_2093_27602497642_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-47_9289151813_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_23868808684_o entrada-a-la-sala-de-la-conferencia-en-el-san-roque-club_21236337368_o despedida-del-gobernador-de-gibraltar-13112013-marcos-moreno21_10967184246_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_4208_18004989281_o Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-10-RGP Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-38 1_Incendio-en-tunel-de-Gibraltar-2 Remembrance-Sunday-2022-17
