Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto colas-de-salida-26-01-15_16193130259_o skywalk-gibraltar-13-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_42273841775_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-13_19901581118_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23325253795_o img_9996_43016051505_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar35_10382626013_o img_6682_35541521895_o img_6581_35154403340_o 7u3a6459_49454718132_o intercambio-cultural-entre-gibraltar-y-cdiz_41086233610_o 2g9a0253_48800933828_o untitled_panorama-2_21605669581_o university-25_39603874182_o Homenaje-a-Manolo-Mascarenhas-en-la-exposicion open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_15764241894_o visita-platini-gibralar-rock-cup-2014-34_14150427661_o 2g9a3995_49336228918_o 2g9a2050_49049026366_o img_2073_27855785559_o P1080602 2g9a5901_48204604836_o img_1192_36830777852_o img_0200_42190661541_o 2g9a9165_30063591511_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-63_29605110545_o 2g9a5234_30961543205_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-3_30880606196_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275185400_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-44 img_9529_26492984791_o img_9617_25953976664_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24206822965_o img_7831_24180736056_o a-dsc_5591_19249022610_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off a-dsc_5994_19250284009_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 2g9a9664_27262508043_o flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201439_15193456984_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24414611231_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY img_7867_21287916772_o nuevo-gobernador-de-gibraltar03_11312503694_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_4113_18004998671_o BP200031
