A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - Fabian Picardo led his GSLP/LiberalAlliance Ministers to the Convent earlier this morning where there were sworn into Government by Acting Governor Alison Macmilan. He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23299239466_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-lawson_9703142988_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9703047066_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival44_14981798347_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-mark-eliyahu-ensemble-08_9222704789_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868057431_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-18_24970498362_o img_9646_21463206585_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_24862363724_o 2g9a9769_50032155818_o 27-ene-17-alumnos-de-la-escuela-obispo-fitzgerald-de-gibraltar-conmemoran-el-holocausto_31742373233_o Monos-51 2g9a0959_48806101981_o WP_20140508_034 img_9463_28250762628_o 2g9a5346_48725846883_o 7u3a5707_49426043512_o img_5284_48919604246_o img_4072_45831074981_o img_1665_43726046355_o img_0784_26036941808_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-24_31331049223_o img_2077_36765431830_o 2g9a4540_30280740484_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-32_30880582466_o 2g9a7331_29750650551_o 2g9a7475_29207276213_o 2g9a9546_29447159256_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417185915_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
