181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto Accesibilidad a las playas de Gibraltar Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 14-agosto-2014-colas-de-accceso-a-gibraltar03_14731997187_o img_4014_16074198258_o img_4879_41146197544_o colegio-hebreo_17680999552_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-04_17364505775_o 2017-Diana-Set 2020-Europa-2020-‘Ancient-Postal-Routes img_4641_32242472628_o img_0628_20974125064_o concierto-andrea-bocelli_48721053427_o img_0836_21410248259_o university-28_38925363414_o 2g9a0433_48801282796_o 29-mayo-inauguracin-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho16_14125069468_o 2g9a0891_48805746678_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16199285850_o 2g9a9498_50032088918_o 7u3a9633_49900298003_o casemates-square-1_38737099385_o whirligig-lane-1_27855775159_o 2g9a2076_48706249681_o 2g9a8460_46634159261_o 2g9a4630_48713813788_o 2g9a8361_46581736712_o img_1264_36830746752_o img_9156_38309285556_o_37651617114_o img_7980_42790065500_o img_9171_37650531664_o_37651613904_o img_1414_30765092938_o img_8823_24494305578_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-10_25566929227_o img_8856_37650978714_o img_3781_36991652802_o 2g9a5918_30306883013_o_31114929495_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565265165_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565280515_o img_4983_29192599100_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27556205220_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-53_21290032802_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
