A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. thank-you-gha_49847142262_o 7u3a6478_49454485301_o img_0501_22294323544_o img_0515_22903735692_o img_0817_21409167420_o img_9943_21441879686_o 2g9a0249_48801280336_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-30_13967075410_o 2g9a8351_48874549528_o entrenamiento-conjunto-balona-san-joseph-en-la-linea-02122013-2_11213198355_o 2g9a0395_48801429432_o cruise-liners-10_39603825692_o bayside-panorama2_48800933388_o img_4852-after_25762298068_o heritage157_39603312472_o 2g9a2049_48706246021_o img_9586_44881500081_o img_3224_40895452162_o img_9483_44600536061_o img_7207_34391530850_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_9491_35393030263_o img_0257_36311293012_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318400062_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354050743_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31349009801_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354075493_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-73_25326914829_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354093173_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-7bn_21238932625_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. a-dsc_5221_18814156774_o 5-enero-2014-cabalgata-de-reyes-gibraltar-11_16035736079_o img_2700_24621538754_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-30_21113794789_o 0619-agosto-2015-celebracin-del-centenario-del-nacimiento-de-sir-joshua-hassan_20086124604_o img_7728_21272413406_o 3719-agosto-2015-celebracin-del-centenario-del-nacimiento-de-sir-joshua-hassan_20087717123_o 1_7U3A4496 1_7U3A4609 img_4249_20352189508_o fabin-picardo-ministro-principal-gibraltar-07_9225019128_o
