A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-483_22731476382_o vistas-de-ocean-village-y-de-la-pista-del-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_22713695086_o airport-18_39633898931_o img_0366_44297010760_o img_8873_19520458993_o 27-ene-17-alumnos-de-la-escuela-obispo-fitzgerald-de-gibraltar-conmemoran-el-holocausto_31742374533_o img_2611_45564827331_o img_0696_21410178539_o gibraltar-eslovaquia12_10967499646_o img_0800_20974446364_o img_4091_21081660906_o img_9868_21468182705_o Alameda-8 2g9a5952_48204653807_o img_5122_48919595951_o img_4571_48714144371_o img_0278_45781939652_o dscf7819_42790063290_o img_1531_44635088401_o img_3237_40937375511_o 20171214_155520_27279177159_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-150_38547049041_o img_5453_41600438144_o img_8673_39910047901_o img_9080_38333526042_o_26590183389_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-9_32141137715_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-40_31299665234_o img_9888_36433409386_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354052803_o 117229_29462646036_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978697656_o 126766_29207832040_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026131231_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27221929624_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026146381_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417187335_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-88_21000519769_o a-dsc_5591_19249022610_o desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-gibraltar13_9858736744_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-36_9289217689_o img_2919_21772863472_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
