Accesibilidad a las playas de Gibraltar la-marina-de-ocean-village-en-gibraltar_22552229600_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23299044466_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25125381169_o 7u3a9351_49597579756_o social-distancing-matters_49851277522_o 2013-RAF-Squadrons-II img_0553_22917125655_o img_9872_21280341118_o 2g9a0268_48800935258_o university-23_27855821359_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-24_19574914211_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39165234374_o strongmen-201306_10019358915_o img_4185_21107723065_o 7u3a5190_49336911937_o gib-view-2_24765539247_o img_0133_4_5_fused_27855819669_o jumpers-bastion-3_38924863084_o 2g9a8462_46581732872_o 2g9a6749_48204162197_o img_3883_30891441127_o 2g9a4639_48714143166_o 7U3A2471 img_9806_31008313768_o 7U3A2458 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-110_38515438272_o img_5439_41600440524_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-146_38547049881_o img_9211_38309510396_o_24494935428_o img_7321_34736987256_o 2g9a6151_30306797643_o_31114931355_o 2g9a5323_30845129512_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770641380_o 2g9a5366_30845277642_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876091671_o 2g9a7460_29540582320_o 127753_29416792321_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26088168991_o investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde03_13581163095_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
