2g9a9951_48908043047_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 2g9a9963_48907310163_o 20150911_150506743_ios_22755200661_o Gibraltar - 24.02.2014 - MARCOS MORENO - Colas peatonlaes de 2 horas para salir de la aduana de Gibraltar a España. img_3360_34112847401_o colas-frontera-de-gibraltar-11-noviembre-20142_15144681703_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-lawson_9699913881_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 gibraltar-music-festival-2013-metro-motel_9703123916_o nolan-frendo-gibraltar-primer-puesto_14057450293_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival52_15145305816_o img_8862_19953453840_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25400099141_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-59_29439810185_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-74_28815959034_o img_5266_34313435421_o 2g9a4971_48874960736_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_38976531205_o 2g9a0338_48800935623_o 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-26_32175359530_o img_4087_21081702946_o 7u3a5102_49336690866_o 2g9a2612_49086662407_o Cuevas-de-San-Miguel-8 Mezquita-18 img_0237_30891443157_o img_4090_45831073481_o img_9472_43969665215_o dscf7845_44550416902_o img_3195_40895455172_o 20171214_155709_38346299864_o img_9924_36082747380_o 2g9a5834_32763867525_o gibraltar-recuerda-a-las-vctimas-de-los-ataques-de-pars_30679844830_o 2g9a5137_30925624506_o 2g9a9700_28859240913_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275177750_o 129680_28874476973_o img_5103_28855182574_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-65_21187367445_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-15_9289316331_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day19_15014879350_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
