Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-39_26440844765_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-182_22731838852_o colas-de-salida-26-01-15_15756889984_o img_9397_43202798214_o 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-26_32175359530_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-yasmin-levy-mediterranean-andalusian-orchestra-ashkelon-33_9225505310_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_006_12193593703_o 2g9a0371_48800936148_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente25_12249483594_o 2g9a0455_48801428847_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente26_12249610596_o 2g9a0490_48801283466_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-07_9222039559_o 7u3a5269_49336695326_o Trafalgar-7 Monos-20 Monos-en-la-ciudad-11 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-10 2g9a0575_48919597231_o img_0148_30891441977_o img_0775_39737055865_o img_7183_33968365653_o 08-may-2017-10visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895407454_o 08-may-2017-36visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_34606275221_o 2g9a9237_29852392220_o 2g9a4573_30827337241_o 2g9a4600_30827333101_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27221949664_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-65bn_21246905561_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off a-dsc_5489_19436610005_o The Gibraltar Music Festival The Gibraltar Music Festival flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201460_15789735886_o 2g9a1710_26964556390_o 2g9a0236_26346423543_o img_2695_25252187645_o img_8883_24373491702_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-15_21113815859_o BP200031 z-image1_50825359081_o 029-copy_19689540804_o 7u3a1183_51680450312_o HMS Prince of Wales en Gibraltar 7U3A9414 Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-5
