A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_4003_15641881983_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez24_12102517626_o img_0390_32242154698_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25400097571_o img_0531_44297152210_o img_0465_22294378594_o asher-moodie-reino-unido-junto-a-bailarines-de-la-mediterranen-dance-school-y-dance-academy_14033036985_o gibraltar-estonia-marzo-2014-5_12956380064_o Juan-Franco-izquierda-y-Fabian-Picardo-derecha-se-saludan-en-La-Linea img_0091_43733181102_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-2 Alameda-29 img_5169_48919069403_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131072571_o 2g9a8440_46634160291_o img_9528_44830690592_o img_1643_43916347484_o img_9635_43969754385_o img_1719_30765360948_o img_8078_42790068550_o img_2316_44635537821_o img_1355_36623799740_o img_3562_34196602236_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354065973_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_30656122673_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-24_30962840765_o 2g9a4543_30915068915_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-23 Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
