A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-221_22124236103_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-646_22120543744_o 14-agosto-2014-colas-de-accceso-a-gibraltar02_14918568125_o inmaculada-fotos-23112014-07_16093424945_o img_3983_16074456530_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez27_12102225364_o img_0434_45202142755_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival31_14981751600_o img_0494_32242282518_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26902335566_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-18_29439872945_o img_6764_35502347006_o proyecto-de-construccin-de-las-dos-nuevas-escuelas-de-bayside-y-westside-en-waterport-gibraltar_27712734898_o 2g9a0521_26851689225_o 2g9a3018_49094441931_o strongmen-201305_10019377226_o strongmen-201344_10019075934_o img_9536_28250755308_o american-war-memorial-7753_25762320768_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-19 img_4016_45106525244_o img_4077_45831074851_o img_7275_34614749052_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-6_32102452856_o img_9518_35393027033_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-10_36750961530_o_37027017111_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-75_29314642660_o img_2369_37020624361_o untitled_panorama1_28874445023_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-39 img_9594_26558979865_o 000-a-dsc_6110_19250563949_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a9727_27874049585_o 2g9a9769_27840006966_o 2g9a2053_27207718836_o 2015_09_14__0217_21397446776_o 2015_09_14__0223_21235595130_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY Gibraltar, 25 septiembre 2013.
