Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. gibraltar-recibe-anualmente-ms-de-7-millones-de-turistas_22552336950_o paisajes-urbanos-gibraltar-02_9225042222_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-221_22124236103_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23525581062_o COLA GIBRALTAR 21-agosto-2014-colas-de-entrada-y-salida-de-gibraltar08_14803083960_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-03_17157045617_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23029351580_o img_8949_19954763830_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_7584_35347377990_o 7u3a9357_49597579716_o 2015-RAF-Squadrons-IV-2 2g9a4908_48874962841_o 2g9a0251_48801280246_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39843225002_o img_9542_42077118512_o 1_img_0093_29910414418_o img_9564_42077114722_o 7u3a5805_49425817106_o gorhams-cave-6_39633654371_o commonwealth-park-15_38925462574_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-22 2g9a2049_48706246021_o img_8290_46581729942_o img_4175_45831075731_o img_2077_36765431830_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-7_29314689520_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-44_29495037662_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565258495_o a-dsc_5450_18814138884_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417179785_o a-dsc_5977_18815847353_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 24-jun-2016-comparecencia-de-fabin-picardo-en-el-parlamento-de-gibraltar-tras-referndum-permanencia-ru-en-ue-11_27878395085_o tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-01_15329590618_o Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening 29-mayo-inauguracin-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho17_14311132384_o 2g9a9710_27596454460_o gibraltar-national-day_001_9719783532_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-13_21112616390_o Gibraltar celebrates 75 years since Evacuation gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_4061_17816591790_o THE EARL OF WESSEX VISITS HER MAJESTY’S NAVAL BASE GIB-20230506-045-Coronation Gun Salute
