A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 1_discurso-del-ministro-principal-en-la-cuarta-comisin-de-la-asamblea-general-de-la-organizacin-de-naciones-unidas_29491607544_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez25_12102129493_o social-distancing-matters_49851277522_o hospital-de-campaa_49726813996_o 2015-YouStamps-2015 img_0479_22903659152_o concierto-andrea-bocelli_48720880826_o 2g9a3014_49093921823_o concierto-andrea-bocelli_48721053202_o entrenamiento-conjunto-balona-san-joseph-en-la-linea-02122013-3_11213199744_o 7u3a9623_49901121727_o 2g9a2020_49048528868_o img_2331_24764443107_o img_4914_48919597971_o img_4558_48714306562_o img_4566_48714144421_o img_4708_48714310862_o img_0278_45781939652_o img_4125_31960326528_o img_1812_37002181885_o nova-twins-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-119_44833876382_o img_3287_40895445072_o img_1420_36185587594_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31349009801_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28939774144_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27222133983_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27732684382_o img_9514_26286176570_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26075036393_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-26_20566260613_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
