A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_9992_43202806454_o img_0504_22917035675_o img_2701_44839793904_o img_9902_21281251049_o 2g9a0538_26246271154_o 2g9a0845_48805745823_o 2g9a0905_48806239117_o 7u3a5197_49336692391_o img_0152_43064730254_o Punta-Europa-2 img_2789_38925381264_o heritage100_27855282859_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131072316_o 2g9a6724_48204067811_o 2g9a0566_48919805577_o img_5376_48919812207_o img_0313_31960327978_o img_9984_42144387602_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_7185_34644900951_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-13_37148807645_o_37027016821_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-90_30846261172_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-19_37148806825_o_37027015991_o 125547_28874487513_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-96_29524283771_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417182495_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27732842822_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-92 img_9586_26466648232_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a0322_26882459281_o 2015_09_14__0186_20802691923_o 20-de-agosto-2015-celebraciones-aniversario-sir-joshua-hassan-mar-del-sur-49_20135382154_o gibraltar-national-day_019_9719756208_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY 75-years-gibraltar-honouring-generation-30_17372956958_o Gibraltar, 25 septiembre 2013.
