Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-15_25838067923_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-378_22756274671_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23551781221_o 25-noviember-2014-cola-de-salida-gibraltar-09_15695195950_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-olly-murs_9699868435_o img_0357_45389521334_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-05_17364154921_o img_8812_20147134501_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii21_21029703919_o img_8868_20147019981_o img_5341_34402437506_o gracias-sanitarios_49847142392_o hospital-de-campaa_49726813621_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201437_15623712505_o 29-mayo-inauguracin-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho15_14311136714_o la-tv-alemana-zdf-graba-un-reportaje-en-gibraltar-michael-petch-zdf_26030602275_o 2g9a8775_48826625196_o 2g9a2002_49049229847_o 7u3a5230_49336227498_o P1080605 P1080700 panorama-10_24765449147_o 2g9a5905_48204654652_o img_8823_24494305578_o 2g9a5939_48204605931_o img_7241_34614701482_o img_3550_37604621976_o img_7173_34776877175_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-108_29314616730_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-23_30879571475_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29332130534_o 2g9a1692_27205709136_o img_4501_25550453521_o img_2942_25251346645_o 2g9a2122_26635255324_o 2g9a0213_26677607330_o lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_26387596085_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24470801436_o 1_7U3A4496 Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
