Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. inmaculada-fotos-23112014-12_15473742493_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar09_10382502366_o gibraltar-music-festival-ministro-de-cultura_9699791669_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival32_14277952958_o la-galera-gustavo-bacarisas-de-gibraltar-acoge-las-obras-realizadas-durante-los-talleres-de-verano-del-servicio-de-trastornos-del-aprendizaje_24460200566_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-53_29439815025_o 2016-UNESCO-Gorhams-Cave-Complex 2012-Old-Views-of-Gibraltar-II 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-01_24372212306_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-4 Gibraltar - Preparations for Operation Sea Snake start at Eastern beach with tanks wellington-front0439_39603680912_o 2g9a8344_48875082121_o 2g9a1813_48699321653_o visita-del-alcalde-de-la-lnea-al-ministro-principal-de-gibraltar_48954605236_o img_1707_36861710091_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131069986_o 7U3A2476 2g9a4497_48714307792_o img_1537_44635085691_o 2g9a5964_48204605241_o img_1717_43916396634_o 2g9a4640_48714143146_o img_3376_39127762310_o img_9794_43969679195_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-27_34309882052_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978714986_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-118_29524271711_o img_3847_36991613022_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-19_30282261864_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876084261_o 2g9a7432_29207310063_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941951263_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27799755746_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-87 img_9567_25954040274_o 3-de-diciembre-2015-bienvenida-al-atlethic-de-bilbao-12_22870121843_o lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_26321396921_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
