Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. 20150911_135333795_ios_22120596584_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23551779011_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23634191635_o colas-coches-gibraltar-febrero-2014-1_12614417473_o colas-frontera-2-abril-2014-infogibraltar-fotgrafo-marcos-moreno_13598476453_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9703067038_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-texas_9703033864_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival61_14981587539_o james-foot-mira-el-cuadro-silla-en-la-puerta-del-estudio_17495319090_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii40_21029660669_o 62032-0-02 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-2_32175360540_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-23_19720508708_o img_4237_20486583723_o 2g9a9506_50032627056_o 1_img_0118_43733173002_o 2g9a8788_48826623881_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131069431_o img_4071_44014421830_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131093293_o img_0802_28129707029_o img_4564_48714310207_o reunin-del-ministro-principal-con-susana-daz-en-sevilla_25021148247_o el-gobernador-de-gibralar-sir-edward-davis_37651612474_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-3_34309881912_o 2g9a5812_32383640220_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-10_30962849125_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-67_29314650740_o 11-de-noviembre-2016-concurso-cyber-centurion-en-gibraltar-2_30615636600_o img_9509_25954107894_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-53_21195214531_o 5-enero-2014-cabalgata-de-reyes-gibraltar-02_15599438684_o 2g9a9947_27874097035_o img_2249_27628292211_o 2g9a0155_26856598152_o img_9247_26560106005_o img_9171_26494061711_o img_8928_50855773981_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24201463920_o 021-copy_20125582049_o Gibraltar celebrates 75 years since Evacuation Royal Marines Abseiling at RAF Gibraltar BP200031 BP200031
